During our double species day today we visited the T18s and T49A2 hunting and travelling inside the Gulf Islands. After that, we headed out into the Strait of Georgia where we visited Ocular and Olympus travelling along!

Our morning boats headed south and encountered a pod of killer whales just south of Dodd Narrows, the T90s. We also found Slate and her calf traveling with Fader near Gabriola. And then again, the T90s in Nanaimo Harbour!
Our afternoon boats caught back up with the T90’s and then encountered even more humpbacks that we were able to ID as Niagara, Poptart, and Zig Zag and her calf!
Read MoreThis afternoon we visited a T-party of Transient orca! T-parties occur when multiple pods come together. Today we had the T37A’s visiting with the T46’s and the T137’s. The T37A’s and T137’s have been spotted together frequently in the past month. Volker (T37A), the Matriarch of the T37A’s, has been swimming very close with Jack (T137A) during every encounter we have had with them in the past few weeks.
