Recent Sightings

2 T-parties in one day! The T018s and the T049As (-A2) had a party - the T099s and T037As have their own party. Nike (BCX1377), Vivaldi (BCX1704), Schooner (BCX1193 calf 2021), and Velvet (BCY1186) are also spotted, for a total of 23 different whales in one trip!

Another day, another 7 humpbacks! 3 humpbacks (El Diablo (BCX0132), Nike (BCX1377), and Wolf Eel (BCY094)) were by Bowen Island. The other 4 humpbacks (Chi (BCZ0414 calf 2021), Dalmatian (BCY0994), Magpie (BCY1124), and Schooner (BCX1193 calf 2021)) were in the middle of the Strait of Georgia!

Another amazing day on the water, spending time with the T101s, T037As, and T137s. We also were lucky enough to find a pair of humpbacks travelling together not far away, Snoopy and Split Fluke!

It was a very exciting day getting to see humpback whale Fader outside Nanaimo, as well as two different groups of orca travelling nearby! It was a total of 19 whales during this trip!

It was a great day spent with the T018s, T049As (-A1 and A2), Kraken, Slits, Hydra, and Mammoth, plus a few other whales who are still a mystery!

While watching the T018s near Nanaimo, we couldn’t help but think about favouritism in orca, since Nootka clearly favours Galiano over Spouter.

We were able to spend our day today with 5 different humpback whales (Geometry, Hydra, Split fluke, Snoopy, and another) as well as a T-party with 14 different orca! What a day!

It was a very exciting day getting to see the T036As travelling with the T049As (-A2), Spouter (T019C) travelling solo, and Honu!

We got to see three different pairs of humpback whales during this trip, with the whales seen including Kelpie, BCX1965, and Honu, plus three unknowns! Read on to learn a bit about why they think humpbacks might be travelling in pairs like this.

We were lucky enough to see aerial displays from 3 different humpback whales during this trip, Vanta, Nalu, and BCX1965! We also got to see some Seals, Sea Lions, and plenty of seabirds.

It was an orca vs humpback kind of day when we got to see the T002Cs, T059s (some of them) and the T124Ds all harassing a group of 6 humpback whales: Vanta, Nalu, Nike, Velvet, Kraken, and Windy! A very rare but super interesting behaviour to be able to witness.

It’s a great day when we get to have double species during our tour! We not only got to see humpback whales Bullet, Vanta, Snoopy, and Kraken, but also found ourselves a T-Party consisting of 3 different pods: The T002Cs, T049As, and part of the T059s.

We ended up finding 4 different whales having a good time just off of North Nanaimo. These whales were Vanta, Bullet, Potamus, and her 2023 calf.

It’s a great day when the whales won’t stop jumping! Today it was Hendrix (BCY1278) and Dalmatian (BCY0994) that seemed to have all the energy in the world.

Another 10 Humpbacks? In one day?! Woah! We saw MMX0355, Honu (BCX1856), Uluka (BCX1702), Yogi (BCY0409), Snoopy (BCY0770), Anvil (BCZ0410), Crackle (BCY0523 calf 2019), Divot (BCX1057), Raptor (BCY0458), and 1 Unknown.

We saw a whopping 10 different humpbacks including Chinook (BCY0996), Bullet (BCX1658), Europa (BCX0854), her 2023 calf, Neowise (BCY0160 calf 2020), MMX0355, Sherwina (BCY0961), Split Fluke (BCX068), Split Fin (BCZ0298), and Valiant (BCX1773)!

T-party time! The T046B1s, T063, T065, T100s, and T101s travel together. Many humpbacks are spotted including Uluka (BCX1702), Pepper (BCX1706), Lucky (BCZ0419), Two Spot (BCZ0432), Velvet (BCY1186), Graze (BCY0523), her 2023 calf, and 1 Unknown Humpback.
