Despite a rainy forecast, we enjoyed blue skies and incredible encounters with two orca families—the T075Bs and T065Bs—along with sea lions, cormorants, and even juvenile bald eagles on a spectacular day exploring the Southern Gulf Islands.

Despite the rain, our April 6th tour brought incredible encounters with 18 socializing Bigg’s killer whales (the T019s, T036As, T049As, T063, T065, and T099B), rowdy Steller sea lions at Stinky Rock, and nesting seabirds along Gabriola’s cliffs. It was a truly unforgettable wildlife day on the water!

We were soaking in the sunshine during our tour - and so were the pinnipeds and birds that we found as well! Stopping at Entrance Island for a wildlife viewing, we then headed north to search in the Malaspina Strait.

A foggy morning in Nanaimo led to an exciting wildlife adventure, where we encountered Harbour Seals, Bald Eagles, Steller Sea Lions, and two groups of orcas, including the Alaskan Boys. The trip was filled with breathtaking sightings, from peaceful travelling whales to an active orca hunt, making for an unforgettable day on the water.
