September 8th - Transient Orcas near Snake Island!

Cascadia set off the dock at 10:30 in search of whales that were rumoured to be around Nanaimo. Even though conditions were a little choppy, it didn't take long to find a big group of orcas just north of Snake Island! Our guests were treated to seeing two pods be very social with each other. We saw tail slaps, spy hops, and even some porpoising as the whales moved quickly through the water! Here are some of the best photos taken by the crew that day.
