October 12th - Humpbacks all over the Strait

On October 12th we were lucky enough to encounter 5 different humpbacks! On our search for whales, we crossed through Porlier Pass into the Strait of Georgia. We got word that there were two humpbacks spotted just East of the pass, so we set course. On our way, we had a surprise encounter with a totally different humpback! This whale was doing some deep dives, so after a brief visit we turned South in search of other whales. We located two humpbacks travelling together, and after watching them for a couple of minutes we spotted ANOTHER pair a bit farther off! We travelled over to where this new pair was swimming and visited with them before we travelled back through the Gulf Islands.
