May 19th - T-Party near Moresby Island!

We left the docks on the 19th with a report of orca down south, so off we went to find them! The trip down to Moresby Island was a beautiful one, with lots of other wildlife to be found along the way. Our guests got to see California Sea Lions, Bald eagles, and some harbour porpoise, as well as the Orca.

The group of whales we saw were the T65B’s the T75B’s, T75C’s, and T124C; a total of 8 whales. It appeared that they had just made a kill prior to our arrival, as we saw lots of gulls chasing after the scraps left behind by the whales. This is often the easiest way to tell is there was a hunt.

Following the hunt there was lots of spy hops, fluke slaps, and other surface activity making for quite the exciting trip! Check out some of the great photos taken by Naturalist Rodrigo Menezes below!
