T086A1 Nahanni ♀(2001)

Nahanni is the matriarch of the T086A1 matriline and has one living calf. Late in 2023 Nahanni gave birth to her son Denali, at the time she was still travelling with her mother Eider and her younger siblings. Shortly after Denali’s birth Nahanni’s mom and sister had their own calves and since then Nahanni’s seems to have permanently dispersed. Nahanni’s right side eyepatch has a unique shape and has been described as looking similar to a foot which makes her easy to identify. (Photo by Aly Kohlman)
