We didn’t have to travel far to catch up with transient orca “Cooper”, aka T124C! We cruised south from Nanaimo and found this lone male less than an hour away.

Both Cascadia and Keta left the dock at noon and headed south towards some reports of humpback whales, our first humpback sighting of 2019! We were also lucky enough to find orcas as well! Our first double whale species day of the season!

Read MoreToday was a beautifully calm day on the waters off of Nanaimo. We started the day off with reports of Killer Whales at Snake Island, just at the entrance to the Strait of Georgia off of Nanaimo. One of our open vessels, Cascadia, left the dock to search around the island in hopes of finding the orcas, and not too long after we heard they had travelled south towards Ladysmith!
