Under brilliant February sunshine, we were treated to an incredible multi-generational gathering of Bigg’s orca near Nanaimo Harbour - including the T100Bs, the T101s, T100E Tharaya, and T087 Harbeson. T124C Cooper is also spotted later on.

The sun shone overhead as we explored the Salish Sea, finding the T030Bs and T099s travelling quickly northbound in Sansum Narrows, and then a bunch more wildlife in the Strait of Georgia, including a Bald Eagle feeding frenzy on some offshore Herring.

What a great way to wrap up the 2025 season! The T077s were seen travelling with T065A5 Indy in Northumberland Channel. The T046Bs were also spotted in Dodd Narrows, but apparently weren’t up for socializing today! Hale-Bopp and Kappa’s 2023 calf are also spotted!

It was another fantastic day spent on the Salish Sea, spending our time exploring the Georgia Strait and Southern Gulf Islands, as well as with five humpback whales feeding in the area: Graphite, Watson/Cerulean, Bullet, Octo, and Velvet.

The humpback soup continues outside Porlier Pass! Scuba, Dandelion, and Graphite are seen associating, and shortly after, Graphite seperates and becomes acrobatic! Afterwards, Two Spot, Yin Yang, and Velvet are spotted nearby.

We were lucky enough to see both species of whale not too far from the Nanaimo Harbour today, with Graphite and Tempest the humpbacks feeding close to Five Finger Island, and then the T049As travelling in Northumberland Channel!
